Ingredients

  • 1 cup lobster meat (cooked and chopped)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 stalks green onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 30 pieces wonton wrappers
  • 1 piece egg (beaten, for sealing)
  • 4 cups oil (for frying)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked and chopped lobster meat, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Mix until thoroughly combined and smooth.

Step 2

Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean, dry surface. Spoon 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of the lobster filling into the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Brush the edges of the wonton wrapper with the beaten egg to help seal it.

Step 4

Fold the wonton wrapper into a triangle by bringing one corner to meet the opposite corner, pressing the edges firmly to seal.

Step 5

Optionally, bring the two outer corners of the triangle together and press to form a traditional rangoon shape.

Step 6

Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling until all are assembled.

Step 7

Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large, heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).

Step 8

Fry the rangoons in small batches, 4-5 at a time, for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the fryer or pot, as this will lower the oil temperature.

Step 9

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cooked rangoons to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 10

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or a creamy garlic aioli.
