Ingredients

  • 170 grams unsalted butter
  • 100 grams powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 200 grams all-purpose flour
  • 50 grams cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 20 grams powdered sugar (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Mix in the vanilla extract and heavy cream until fully incorporated.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

Step 7

Pipe small rosettes or swirls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still pale in color. Do not let them brown.

Step 9

Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Once cooled, lightly dust the cookies with additional powdered sugar before serving.
