  • 1 lb Lean ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 medium Red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 2 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 cup Low-sodium tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 4 pieces Whole-grain burger buns
  • 1 cup Fresh spinach leaves (optional topping)

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the finely diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Step 3

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the lean ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until no longer pink.
