Ingredients

  • 113 grams Cream cheese
  • 113 grams Unsalted butter
  • 140 grams All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 150 grams Light brown sugar
  • 1 unit Large egg
  • 28 grams Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 100 grams Chopped pecans

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and 113 grams of unsalted butter. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Step 2

Gradually add the flour and salt to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until firm.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin pan or line with paper liners.

Step 4

Divide the chilled dough into 24 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and press it into the cups of the mini muffin pan to form tiny pastry shells.

Step 5

In another mixing bowl, combine the light brown sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Step 6

Sprinkle a small amount of chopped pecans into each pastry shell, then pour the filling mixture over the pecans, filling each shell about 3/4 full.

Step 7

Sprinkle additional chopped pecans on top of each tassie.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the filling is set and the pastry edges are lightly golden.

Step 9

Allow the pecan tassies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Serve at room temperature and enjoy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
