  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup Applesauce
  • 0.67 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 ounces Light cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract (for cream cheese layer)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the applesauce, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
