Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 pound Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, and grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 2

Add the milk, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients together gently with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined. Do not overmix, as overworking the meat can make the meatballs tough.

Step 4

Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, shape the mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs and place them on a tray or baking sheet.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 6

Cook the meatballs for about 2-3 minutes per side, turning them carefully with tongs to brown evenly.

Step 7

Once the meatballs are browned, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Repeat with the remaining batches.

Step 8

If serving with marinara sauce, transfer the browned meatballs into a large pot of simmering marinara sauce and let them cook for an additional 10-15 minutes to ensure they are fully cooked and flavorful.

Step 9

Serve the meatballs warm over spaghetti, in a sandwich, or as an appetizer with toothpicks. Garnish with additional parsley or Parmesan cheese, if desired.
