Ingredients

  • 500 grams Large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 stalks Lemongrass stalks (trimmed and finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger (finely grated)
  • 250 ml Light beer
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro (chopped, for garnish)
  • 4 pieces Lime wedges (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the beer, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, and chopped lemongrass. Mix well to create the marinade.

Step 2

Add the shrimp to the bowl, ensuring they are fully submerged in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Remove the shrimp from the marinade, reserving the liquid, and add them to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque, then remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and bring it to a boil. Allow it to simmer for 3-4 minutes, reducing slightly to thicken and intensify the flavors.

Step 6

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until heated through.

Step 7

Transfer the shrimp to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
