Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest
  • 0.5 cup Lemon juice
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Heavy whipping cream
  • 3 large Egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 optional garnish Fresh lemon slices or mint leaves

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, then remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream using an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue whipping until stiff peaks form. Transfer the whipped cream to the refrigerator to keep it chilled.

Step 3

In a separate clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites with the salt using an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually fold in the cooled lemon juice mixture while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.

Step 4

Gently fold the egg white mixture into the whipped cream, being careful not to deflate the mixture too much. Add the lemon zest and fold until evenly combined.

Step 5

Divide the lemon whip into serving glasses or bowls. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

Step 6

Before serving, garnish each dessert with a fresh lemon slice or a sprig of mint, if desired.

Step 7

Serve chilled and enjoy this refreshing Lemon Whip Dessert!
