Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups Warm water (100–110°F)
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh rosemary (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Flaky sea salt

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes, or until foamy.

Step 2

Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of salt, and the lemon zest to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.

Step 3

Gradually add the flour while stirring with a wooden spoon or using a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Mix until the dough comes together and is slightly sticky.

Step 4

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, knead with a stand mixer on medium speed for 5 minutes.
