Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Wash and cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets if not already prepared.

Bring a large pot of water to boil and blanch the broccoli for 2-3 minutes, until it turns bright green and slightly tender. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice water bath to stop the cooking process. Drain thoroughly after a minute and set aside.
