Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Fresh cranberries
  • 0.5 cup Lemon marmalade
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Fresh orange juice
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh lemon zest
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground cinnamon (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse and drain the cranberries, discarding any that are soft or bruised.

Step 2

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and water.

Step 3

Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir gently to dissolve the sugar.

Step 4

Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing the cranberries to pop and burst, stirring occasionally. This should take about 8-10 minutes.

Step 5

Once the mixture starts to thicken, reduce the heat to low and stir in the lemon marmalade, lemon zest, and optional ground cinnamon.

Step 6

Let the sauce cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reaches the desired consistency. Keep in mind it will thicken more as it cools.

Step 7

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.

Step 8

Transfer the cranberry sauce to a serving dish or airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
