Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti or linguine according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set the pasta aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
