Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 3 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 whole Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 12 ounces Fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 1 gallon Water for boiling pasta
  • 1 tablespoon Salt for pasta water

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add 1 tablespoon of salt, and cook the fettuccine or linguine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the rest.

Step 2

Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F). Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, making sure not to burn it.

Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
