  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Directions

Step 1

Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the scallops in a single layer, leaving space between each one. Cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side without moving them until a golden crust forms.

Flip the scallops and cook for an additional 2 minutes on the other side. Remove them from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
