Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 2 tbsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 8 slices Bacon slices
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices
  • 4 tbsp Mayonnaise (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients until evenly combined. Do not overmix.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and form them into burger patties about 3/4 inch thick. Use your thumb to press a shallow indentation in the center of each patty; this helps the patties cook evenly and minimizes puffing.

Step 3

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. While it heats, cook the bacon in a separate pan until crispy, then place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Step 4

Once the skillet or grill is hot, lightly oil the surface and place the burger patties on it. Cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving.

Step 5

Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the second side, or until the burgers reach your desired level of doneness (160°F internal temperature for medium).

Step 6

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.

Step 7

Toast the hamburger buns on the skillet or grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers: Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun (optional). Add a lettuce leaf, tomato slice, the cooked patty with melted cheese, and two slices of crispy bacon. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 9

Serve the burgers immediately with your preferred sides and condiments.
