Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground chicken or pork
  • 2 cups Green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 cup Carrots, grated
  • 3 stalks Green onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 6 sheets Prepared egg roll wrappers, cut into 2-inch strips
  • 0.25 cup Sweet chili sauce (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add ground chicken or pork to the skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and add minced garlic, shredded cabbage, and grated carrots. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

Step 4

Return the cooked ground meat to the skillet. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes to combine flavors.

Step 5

Mix in the sliced green onions, then turn off the heat. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish.

Step 6

In a separate small pan, lightly toast the egg roll wrapper strips over medium heat until crispy and golden, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 7

To serve, top the meat and veggie mixture with the crispy egg roll strips for crunch. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce if desired and enjoy!
