Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 4 cups romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup black beans
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup salsa
  • 0.5 cup guacamole
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
  • 1 cup tortilla chips, crushed

Directions

Step 1

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Step 2

Add the taco seasoning and water to the cooked beef, stirring to combine. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Step 3

Prepare the salad base by shredding romaine lettuce and placing it as the bottom layer in a large bowl or casserole dish.

Step 4

Halve the cherry tomatoes and rinse the black beans; layer both over the lettuce.

Step 5

Add a layer of corn kernels, followed by the seasoned ground beef.

Step 6

Top the meat with shredded cheddar cheese.

Step 7

Add dollops of sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on top of the cheese layer, spreading them out evenly but leaving some texture.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped cilantro and a generous sprinkling of crushed tortilla chips for added crunch.

Step 9

Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. For best freshness, add the tortilla chips just before serving to maintain crispness.
