Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Lasagne noodles
  • 2 cups Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 pound Ground Italian sausage or ground beef (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the lasagne noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on a parchment-lined baking sheet to prevent sticking.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, the egg, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well-mixed and creamy.

Step 4

If using Italian sausage or ground beef, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meat and cook until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat and stir in 2 cups of marinara sauce. Remove from heat.

Spread 1/4 cup of the ricotta mixture evenly over each lasagne noodle. If using meat sauce, add a thin layer of the meat sauce on top of the ricotta mixture.

Roll up each noodle tightly and place them seam-side down in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the lasagne rolls, making sure they are fully covered. Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Let the lasagne rolls cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
