Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 8 noodles lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup fresh basil, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 2

Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, approximately 1 minute.

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the pot. Cook and crumble until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
