Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 medium Onion, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let the breadcrumbs soak for 5 minutes until softened.

Step 2

Add the ground beef, ground pork, egg, grated Parmesan, parsley, minced garlic, grated onion, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix everything together gently using your hands until just combined. Do not overmix to ensure tenderness.

Step 3

Using your hands or a small scoop, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get approximately 16-20 meatballs.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd them. Cook the meatballs for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned all over. You may need to work in batches.

Step 5

Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a plate and set aside. If you’re serving them with sauce, add your preferred tomato sauce to the skillet, then return the meatballs to the sauce. Cover and simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 160°F or 71°C).

Step 6

Serve the meatballs hot over pasta, in a sandwich, or with a fresh side salad. Garnish with additional parsley and grated Parmesan if desired.
