Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon, about 8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and chopped parsley. Mix well and set aside.
Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread one-third of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by one-third of the shredded mozzarella and a light sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
Repeat the layers (sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, Parmesan) two more times, ending with a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
Cover the baking dish with foil, being careful not to let it touch the cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
