Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef or lamb
  • 100 grams Cooked rice
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 100 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 250 milliliters Vegetable oil (for frying)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook half of the ground beef (250 grams) until browned and fully cooked. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef with the remaining raw ground beef, cooked rice, finely chopped onion, 2 eggs, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is uniform.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each one into an oval or an elongated patty about 2-3 inches long.

Step 4

Prepare a dredging station by beating the remaining 2 eggs in a shallow bowl. Place the breadcrumbs on a separate plate.

Step 5

Dip each of the formed patties first into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are evenly coated, and then roll them in the breadcrumbs to coat completely.

Step 6

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it reaches frying temperature (around 175°C or 350°F).

Step 7

Fry the patties in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook each patty for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 8

Remove the fried patties from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 9

Serve hot with a side of yogurt, salad, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
