Ingredients

  • 1 pound Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 can (8 ounces) Bamboo shoots, drained and sliced
  • 4 Green onions, sliced
  • 0.5 cup Beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 4 cups Cooked white rice

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and swirl to coat.

Step 3

Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the bamboo shoots and sliced green onions to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.

Step 6

Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the beef broth, the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine.

Step 7

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to form a slurry. Pour it into the skillet while stirring continuously. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from heat and serve the bamboo beef hot over cooked white rice.
