  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 500 grams ground beef (or lamb)
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 100 grams feta cheese, crumbled
  • 10 phyllo pastry sheets
  • 100 grams unsalted butter, melted

Directions

Step 1

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the ground beef (or lamb) to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.

Stir in the cinnamon, allspice, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to develop the flavors, then remove from heat.

Allow the meat mixture to cool slightly, then fold in the crumbled feta cheese.
