Ingredients

  • 85 grams Cream cheese, softened
  • 113 grams Unsalted butter, softened
  • 130 grams All-purpose flour
  • 150 grams Light brown sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 15 grams Butter, melted
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 120 grams Pecans, finely chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 24-cup mini muffin pan or use nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 3

Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the cream cheese mixture and mix until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 15 minutes to make it easier to handle.

Step 4

While the dough chills, prepare the filling. In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, egg, vanilla extract, melted butter, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.

Step 5

Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Divide it into 24 equal portions (approximately 1-inch balls) and press each portion into the bottom and up the sides of the mini muffin cups to create a shell.

Step 6

Sprinkle a few chopped pecans into each dough shell. Then, carefully spoon the prepared filling into the shells, filling each about 3/4 full. Avoid overfilling as the mixture will expand while baking.

Step 7

Top each tassie with a few more chopped pecans.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges of the shells are lightly golden brown.

Step 9

Remove the tassies from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes. Gently remove them from the muffin tin and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Serve at room temperature and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
