Ingredients

  • 100 grams Fresh ginger root
  • 1 liter Water
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Pine nuts (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Peel the fresh ginger root and slice it into thin pieces. Aim for slices about 1-2 mm thick for maximum flavor release.

Step 2

In a medium-sized pot, bring the 1 liter of water to a boil over medium heat.

Step 3

Once the water is boiling, add the sliced ginger to the pot.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to low and let the ginger simmer for 20-25 minutes. This will infuse the water with a rich ginger flavor.

Step 5

After simmering, turn off the heat and let the tea cool slightly for about 5 minutes.

Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a teapot or another pot, discarding the ginger slices.
