Ingredients

  • 450 grams Ground beef
  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 30 grams Brown sugar
  • 15 ml Sesame oil
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 10 grams Fresh ginger, grated
  • 20 grams Gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 3 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
  • 500 grams White cabbage, shredded
  • 30 ml Rice vinegar
  • 10 grams Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
  • 15 ml Honey
  • 15 ml Vegetable oil
  • 5 grams Sesame seeds
  • 4 cups Cooked white rice

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and gochujang. Stir well and set aside.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it into small crumbles, until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3

Once the beef is browned, drain any excess grease and return the skillet to the heat. Pour in the prepared soy sauce mixture and stir to coat the beef evenly. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens. Stir in half of the chopped green onions and set the beef aside, keeping it warm.

Step 4

In a separate skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the shredded cabbage and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until it begins to soften.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, gochugaru, and honey, then pour this mixture over the cabbage. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Step 6

To serve, place a generous scoop of cooked rice on each plate. Top with a layer of fiery cabbage and spoon the Korean beef over the top. Garnish with the remaining green onions and additional sesame seeds if desired.

Step 7

Enjoy your Korean Beef on Fiery Cabbage while it's hot!
