Ingredients

  • 8 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 9-inch shell prepared pie crust
  • 1 cup whipped cream (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Pre-bake your prepared 9-inch pie crust according to package instructions or until golden brown. Let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Wash and hull the fresh strawberries, then pat them dry. Choose about 4 cups of the best-looking strawberries to use whole, and slice the rest in half or quarters.
