Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs
  • 0.333 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons chives or parsley (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Place the eggs in a single layer in a large saucepan and cover them with cold water, ensuring there is at least 1 inch of water above the eggs.

Step 2

Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for 12 minutes.

Step 3

Drain the hot water and immediately transfer the eggs into a bowl filled with ice water to cool. Let them sit for at least 10 minutes.

Step 4

Peel the eggs carefully, rinse to remove any shell fragments, and pat them dry with a clean towel.

Step 5

Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Gently scoop out the yolks and place them in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Arrange the whites on a serving platter and set aside.

Step 6

Mash the yolks with a fork until smooth. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix thoroughly until the filling is creamy and well-combined.

Step 7

Using a spoon or piping bag, carefully fill the egg white halves with the yolk mixture, evenly distributing the filling among all eggs.

Step 8

Sprinkle the tops with paprika for garnish and, if desired, chopped chives or parsley for a fresh touch.

Step 9

Refrigerate the deviled eggs for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 10

Serve chilled and enjoy as an appetizer or side dish!
