Ingredients

  • 2 pounds kielbasa sausage
  • 12 ounces beer (lager or ale)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Slice the kielbasa into 1/2-inch thick rounds and set aside.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the sliced kielbasa to the pan and sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is browned on both sides. Remove the kielbasa from the pan and set aside.

Step 4

In the same pan, add the beer, ketchup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Step 5

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Step 6

Return the browned kielbasa to the pan, making sure the slices are evenly coated in the sauce.

Step 7

Reduce the heat to low and let the kielbasa cook in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the sausages are infused with flavor.

Step 8

Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings as needed.

Step 9

Once finished, remove the pan from heat and serve the kielbasa hot as an appetizer with toothpicks, or as a main dish over rice, mashed potatoes, or with a side of crusty bread.
