  • 2 whole Serrano chilies
  • 1 whole Jalapeño pepper
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 1 cup, chopped (loosely packed) Cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 1 small (chopped) Green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste) Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Avocado oil (or olive oil)

Directions

Step 1

Peel and rinse the tomatillos thoroughly to remove their sticky residue.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the tomatillos, serrano chilies, jalapeño, and garlic cloves. Simmer for 6-8 minutes, or until the tomatillos turn a dull green and are soft but not falling apart.

Remove the saucepan from heat and drain the water. Let the cooked ingredients cool for 5 minutes.
