Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Black tea leaves (or tea bags)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Erythritol (or preferred keto sweetener)
  • 0.25 teaspoons Vanilla extract (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Boil 1 cup of water in a small pot or kettle.

Step 2

Add 2 teaspoons of black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags) to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to brew the tea.

Step 3

Strain the tea leaves (or remove the tea bags) and pour the brewed tea into a heatproof mug or mixing cup.

Step 4

Add 0.5 cup of unsweetened almond milk and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream to the brewed tea. Stir to combine.

Step 5

Sweeten the tea mixture with 1 tablespoon of erythritol (or your preferred keto-friendly sweetener) and add 0.25 teaspoons of vanilla extract if desired. Mix well until the sweetener dissolves completely.

Step 6

To achieve the signature foamy texture of teh tarik, transfer the tea mixture between two large mugs or containers repeatedly. Pour the tea from a height of about 6-8 inches to create froth, being careful not to spill. Repeat the process 5-6 times until frothy.
