Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon Psyllium husk powder
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 2 tablespoons Erythritol (or preferred keto sweetener)
  • 1/3 cup Hot water
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened black sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered erythritol (for filling)
  • 2 cups Low-carb sweetened ginger tea (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk powder, xanthan gum, and erythritol. Mix well to combine.

Step 2

Gradually add hot water to the dry ingredients while stirring. Mix until the dough comes together and forms a smooth, pliable texture. Knead gently with your hands for 1-2 minutes if necessary.

Step 3

Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rest for about 10 minutes.

Step 4

While the dough rests, prepare the filling. Use a small food processor or a mortar and pestle to grind the black sesame seeds into a coarse paste.

Step 5

Mix the black sesame paste with coconut oil and powdered erythritol until fully combined. Roll the filling mixture into small pea-sized balls and set aside.

Step 6

Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten it gently in your palm to form a disk.

Step 7

Place one ball of sesame filling in the center of the dough disk. Carefully fold the edges of the dough around the filling and pinch to seal. Roll gently between your palms to form a smooth ball. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.

Step 8

Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil over medium heat. Carefully add the Tangyuan balls to the boiling water.

Step 9

Cook the Tangyuan until they float to the surface, about 3-4 minutes. Let them simmer for 1 additional minute.

Step 10

Carefully remove the Tangyuan with a slotted spoon and serve in a bowl. Optionally, you can serve the Tangyuan in hot low-carb ginger tea for additional flavor.
