Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 lb Steak (sirloin or ribeye, diced)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium White onion, diced
  • 1 cup Mushrooms, sliced
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt. Add the butter and mix until crumbly.

Step 3

Add the egg to the crust mixture and knead until it forms a dough. Flatten the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Roll out the dough between two sheets of parchment paper until it is large enough to fit into a 9-inch pie pan. Gently press the dough into the pan and trim the edges. Prick the base with a fork.

Step 5

Bake the pie crust for 10 minutes, then set aside to cool.

Step 6

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the diced steak, salt, and pepper. Sear the steak on all sides, then remove it from the skillet and set aside.

Step 7

In the same skillet, sauté the onions, garlic, and mushrooms until softened, about 5 minutes.

Step 8

Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, then add in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Stir until melted and combined.

Step 9

Return the steak to the skillet and stir to coat in the cheesy mixture.

Step 10

Pour the steak and cheese filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.

Step 11

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Step 12

Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Step 13

Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and enjoy!
