Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground mutton
  • 1 medium (finely chopped) Onion
  • 3 minced Garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoons (finely chopped) Cilantro leaves
  • 2 finely chopped Green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons (optional, for binding) Gram flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon (or to taste) Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper powder
  • 1 large (for binding) Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (for frying) Butter or ghee

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground mutton, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, ginger paste, chopped cilantro, and green chilies.

Step 2

Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and black pepper powder to the mixture.

Step 3

Optional: Add the gram flour to help with binding, especially if the mutton mixture feels too wet.

Step 4

Crack the egg into the bowl, and add the lemon juice. Mix everything thoroughly using your hands or a spatula until well combined. The mixture should hold together when formed into patties.

Step 5

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into kebabs (small oval or round patties) using your hands.

Step 6

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and melt the butter or ghee.

Step 7

Place the kebabs in the pan, ensuring they are not overcrowded, and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 8

Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to drain any excess fat.

Step 9

Serve hot with a side of mint yogurt dip or low-carb chutney!
