Ingredients

  • 400 g shirataki noodles
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 400 g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 50 g parmesan cheese, grated
  • 10 g fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 0 to taste salt
  • 0 to taste black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shirataki noodles thoroughly under cold water. Drain well and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Brown the meat, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and no pink remains, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5

Drain any excess fat from the skillet. Add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Step 6

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to let the flavors meld.

Step 7

While the sauce is simmering, dry fry the shirataki noodles in a separate pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes to remove excess moisture. This helps improve the noodle texture.

Step 8

Add the prepared shirataki noodles to the skillet with the sauce. Toss until the noodles are well coated with the sauce.

Step 9

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and chopped basil leaves over the pasta.

Step 10

Serve hot, garnished with additional parmesan cheese and basil if desired.
