Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 ounces Cream cheese
  • 2 large Egg
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 serving Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until beef is browned and onion is translucent, about 7-8 minutes.

Step 3

Add minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

Step 5

In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and xanthan gum.

Add the melted cheese mixture and eggs to the flour mixture. Mix well until a dough forms. It may be sticky at first but should hold together.

On a clean surface, divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a disk about 1/4 inch thick.

Place about 2 tablespoons of the meat filling in the center of each disk. Carefully fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal and form a bun.

Place buns seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush the tops of each bun with the egg wash to achieve a glossy finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
