Ingredients

  • 500 grams Turnips
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 0.25 teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Peel the turnips and cut them into small, bite-sized cubes.

Step 2

Heat coconut oil in a large non-stick pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds to the hot oil. Allow them to sizzle for about 30 seconds until they crackle.

Step 4

Add a pinch of asafoetida (hing) and stir briefly.

Add the cubed turnips to the pan. Stir well to coat them in the spiced oil.

Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder over the turnips. Mix thoroughly to blend all the spices.
