Ingredients

  • 250 grams Paneer
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 units Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, pureed
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Cut the paneer into cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add paneer cubes and sauté until they are golden brown on all sides. Remove paneer from the pan and set aside.

Step 3

In the same pan, add the remaining ghee. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Step 4

Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

Pour the tomato puree into the pan, stir well, and let it cook for 5-7 minutes until the oil separates.

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Mix well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Add water, stir well, and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Once the gravy starts to thicken, add the sautéed paneer and salt. Stir gently to coat the paneer with the gravy.

Stir in the heavy cream and garam masala, mix thoroughly, and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
