Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Beef steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 4 sprigs Fresh thyme
  • 2 sprigs Fresh rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Take the beef steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before cooking.

Step 2

Season the steaks generously on both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot and shimmering, place the steaks in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on the first side without moving them. This ensures a good crust forms.

Flip the steaks and add 2 tablespoons of butter, the smashed garlic cloves, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet.
