Ingredients

  • 300 grams Frozen green peas
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 small, finely chopped Onion
  • 2 cloves, minced Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon, minced Ginger
  • 1 small, finely chopped Green chili
  • 1 medium, pureed Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.75 teaspoon (or to taste) Salt
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add cumin seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion and sauté until they become translucent.

Step 4

Stir in the minced garlic, ginger, and green chili, cooking for another couple of minutes until fragrant.

Pour the tomato puree into the pan and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the oil separates from the mixture.

Step 6

Add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly to combine all the spices with the tomato base.

Add the frozen green peas directly to the pan and stir well to coat them with the spice mix.

Lower the heat to medium-low and cover the pan with a lid. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peas are cooked to your desired softness.
