Ingredients

  • 1 pound Beef ribeye or sirloin
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce (tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Erythritol
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 3 Scallions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 Romaine lettuce leaves or cabbage leaves

Directions

Step 1

Slice the beef into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. If the beef is slightly frozen, it will be easier to slice finely.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, erythritol, garlic, ginger, and ground black pepper.

Step 3

Add the sliced beef to the bowl, ensuring each piece is well-coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. When hot, add the marinated beef slices in a single layer. Do this in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Step 5

Cook the beef for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until it is browned and cooked through.

Step 6

Once all the beef is cooked, sprinkle the slices with thinly sliced scallions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes if using.

Step 7

Serve the Korean BBQ beef wrapped in lettuce or cabbage leaves as an alternative to rice for a keto-friendly meal.
