Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 100 grams Frozen green peas
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee or coconut oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 medium Tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 small Green chili, chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Heat the ghee or coconut oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili (if using). Cook for another minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Stir in the chopped tomato and cook until it softens and blends with the onions, around 5 minutes.

Step 5

Add ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for another minute to let the spices bloom.

Step 6

Add the ground beef into the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.

Step 7

Stir in the frozen peas and mix well. Cover and let it cook for additional 5-7 minutes until the peas are tender.

Step 8

Sprinkle the Garam masala over the keema. Stir to combine, and cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 9

Turn off the heat, add lemon juice, and mix well.

Step 10

Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and serve hot.
