Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, combine almond flour, parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt. Add in the butter and the egg, mixing until a dough forms.

Step 3

Press the dough into a 9-inch pie dish evenly and prick holes with a fork. Refrigerate while preparing the filling.

Step 4

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

Step 5

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, and cook until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 6

Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper into the beef mixture. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 7

Remove the pie crust from the refrigerator. Pour the beef filling into the crust.

Step 8

In a small bowl, beat the remaining two eggs with shredded mozzarella cheese and pour it over the beef filling, spreading it evenly.

Step 9

Bake the pie in the oven for about 25 minutes or until the cheese topping is golden and bubbly.

Step 10

Allow the pie to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
