Ingredients

  • 250 grams Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 50 grams Coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 2 large Egg whites
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon White pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 120 milliliters Water
  • 8 large Cabbage leaves

Directions

Step 1

Chop the shrimp into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add garlic paste, ginger paste, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt to the shrimp. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly combined. Set aside to marinate while you prepare the dough.

Step 3

In another bowl, combine coconut flour, xanthan gum, and baking powder. Mix thoroughly.

Step 4

Gradually add the egg whites and water, stirring continuously until the mixture forms a smooth and thick dough.

Step 5

Cut the cabbage leaves into squares approximately 10x10 cm (4x4 inches). These will be used instead of traditional dumpling wrappers.

Step 6

Take a small amount of the shrimp mixture and place it in the center of each cabbage square.

Step 7

Wrap the cabbage around the shrimp mixture to form a dumpling, making sure to seal the edges securely.

Step 8

Place a steamer over a pot of simmering water. Lightly grease the steamer basket with a little oil to prevent sticking.

Step 9

Arrange the dumplings in the steamer basket, ensuring they are spaced apart.

Step 10

Steam the dumplings for 15-20 minutes, or until the shrimp is cooked and the cabbage is tender.

Step 11

Carefully remove the dumplings from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.

Step 12

Serve the keto har gao warm with a side of soy sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
