Ingredients

  • 250 grams Shrimp
  • 1.5 cups Almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 0.5 cup Boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Chives, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Start by peeling and deveining the shrimp. Finely chop the shrimp into small pieces.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp with grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and chopped chives. Stir until well mixed and set aside.

Step 3

In another large bowl, mix almond flour, coconut flour, and xanthan gum.

Step 4

Add boiling water to the flour mixture slowly, stirring continuously until a dough starts to form.

Step 5

Add coconut oil to the dough mixture and knead until you get a smooth, slightly sticky dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 6

Once the dough is rested, divide it into small balls roughly the size of a large marble.

Step 7

Roll each ball between two sheets of parchment paper until it reaches about 3 inches in diameter.

Step 8

Place a teaspoon of the shrimp filling into the center of each dough circle.

Step 9

Carefully fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal and create a half-moon shape. Crimp the edges for a traditional look.

Step 10

Prepare a steamer lined with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking.

Step 11

Place the dumplings into the steamer, ensuring there is enough space between each dumpling.

Step 12

Steam the dumplings over boiling water for 8-10 minutes or until the shrimp is cooked through and the dough is translucent.

Step 13

Carefully remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
