  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 8 ounces Button mushrooms
  • 2 each, minced Garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon, chopped Fresh thyme
  • 4 large leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large, sliced Avocado
  • 0.5 medium, thinly sliced Red onion

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper until just combined. Do not overwork the meat to avoid tough burgers.

Step 2

Divide the seasoned beef into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, pressing gently to flatten them slightly. Set aside.

Step 3

Clean the button mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt, and thinly slice them.

Step 4

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and turn golden brown, about 6-8 minutes.

Stir in the minced garlic and butter with the mushrooms, adding fresh thyme as well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant. Remove mushroom mixture from the skillet and set aside.
