Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almond flour
  • 0.25 cup Coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon Psyllium husk powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.75 cup Hot water
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 cup Avocado oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk powder, salt, and baking powder. Mix well until all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 2

In a separate smaller bowl, whisk together the olive oil and hot water. Slowly pour this liquid into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously until a dough begins to form.

Step 3

Add the egg to the dough and knead it gently with your hands for about 2-3 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a bit more almond flour.

Step 4

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Place a ball of dough between two sheets of parchment paper and use a rolling pin to flatten it into a thin, round tortilla – about 1/8 inch thick.

Step 5

Repeat the rolling process with the remaining dough balls.

Step 6

Heat the avocado oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, gently add one tortilla in the pan.

Step 7

Fry the tortilla for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until it becomes golden brown and crispy. Use a spatula to flip the tortilla carefully.

Step 8

Remove the fried tortilla from the pan and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 9

Repeat the frying process with the remaining rolled tortillas.

Step 10

Serve the keto fried tortillas warm as a side dish or as a crispy base for your favorite toppings or fillings.
