Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 0.25 cup Coconut flour
  • 2 tablespoons Psyllium husk powder
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cups Coconut oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, unsweetened almond milk, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil until thoroughly combined.

Step 3

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing with a spatula until a dough forms.

Step 4

Turn the dough onto a clean surface and knead gently until smooth. Let it rest for about 5 minutes to allow the psyllium husk to absorb the moisture.

Step 5

Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a long strip, approximately 12 inches long and 3/4 inch in diameter. Press each strip lightly to flatten slightly.

Step 6

Twist each strip by grabbing both ends and twisting in opposite directions. This will create the characteristic 'Youtiao' shape.

Step 7

Heat coconut oil in a large frying pan or pot over medium-high heat. The oil should reach about 350°F (175°C) for frying.

Step 8

Carefully lower a few of the twisted dough sticks into the hot oil without overcrowding the pan. Fry each side until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Step 9

Remove the fried dough sticks using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 10

Serve warm with your favorite keto-friendly dipping sauce or alongside congee for a traditional touch.
