Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 0.25 cup fresh chives
  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano leaves
  • 2 large garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Begin by washing all the fresh herbs thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels or use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture.

Step 2

Peel the garlic cloves and set them aside.

Step 3

In a food processor, combine the parsley, basil, cilantro, chives, and oregano. Pulse the herbs until they are finely chopped.

Step 4

Add the garlic cloves to the processor and pulse again until the garlic is minced and well integrated with the herbs.

Step 5

Pour in the lemon juice, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar. Add the sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

Step 6

Process the mixture in the food processor until the ingredients are well combined and the sauce reaches a smooth consistency. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure even blending.

Step 7

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. Add a pinch more salt or a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten the flavors if desired.

Step 8

Transfer the sauce to a clean jar or airtight container. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Step 9

Serve as a delicious accompaniment to grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or as a zesty dressing for salads.
